Rigid Endoscopes

Rigid EndoscopesThe variety of rigid telescopes available and the visualization afforded by even the smallest models open up an enormous new field of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities to veterinary practitioners.

Some of the more common applications of rigid endoscopy include laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, urethrocystoscopy, rhinoscopy, arthroscopy, otoscopy, vaginoscopy and avian endoscopy. For additional information, review How to Choose KARL STORZ Rigid Endoscopes and When would you use a Rigid Endoscope?

Rigid Endoscopes Rigid and semi-rigid endoscopes range in size from approximately 1mm to 10mm in outer diameter. Larger telescopes have the advantage of greater light carrying capacity and larger image size. Smaller telescopes have the obvious advantage of being less invasive and fitting into smaller areas (i.e., nasal passages, urethras, joints).
